I this episode of God Stuff, Bradley Thomas joins Bill in a discussion of Angels and Demons. Where did they come from? How do they get their wings, really? And how do they impact our lives? Should Christians worry about demonic possession?

Bill: I’m curious about your mentioning that people do not become “possessed” by demons. There were several instances of demon possession in the gospels, with Jesus casting the demons out. Maybe I misunderstood that portion of the podcast.
Also, will you please do a podcast or sermon series explaining why the Bible is the Word of God. I absolutely believe that it is, but I don’t know how to explain it. How were the books of the Bible assembled in their current order? Why were the selected books of the Bible determined to be canon, while others were not? Who made the final determination of what books belonged in the Bible? Clarification on this would be very helpful.
Thank you.
I have a semantic argument. “Possessed” is not in the Greek. It is an interpretation from the Gk word “daimonizomai” which simply means demonized. This runs a wide range of demonic influence, and doesn’t necessarily mean “owned” or “possessed.”
