Have you ever noticed how Jesus introduces the Lord’s Prayer?
“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13, NKJV)
Jesus says, “In this manner…” The idea here is that he is giving us an outline for prayer. While many people enjoy reciting the Lord’s Prayer as is–which is awesome–Jesus was telling us a deeper use for his prayer. It is a pattern prayer. An outline of how to pray.
In today’s episode, Bradley Thomas joins Bill Giovannetti to talk through what it sounds like to pray using the Lord’s Prayer as a template.

I’m amused that you quickly switched from ‘which’ to ‘who,’ but it never occurred to you that today in non-churchy language we say ‘is’ instead of ‘art.’ And yes, I use ‘art’ in the Lord’s Prayer, too.
Sometimes I get my King James English messed up… LOL
Just finished listening to the podcast, and we really enjoyed it. It was refreshing and will help me grow in my prayer life.
I want to download the outline, but I guess I need assistance in locating it.
That’s awesome Tim! To get the outline, fill out the form at the bottom of the page, and it will take you to the download page! Thanks.
